Dogs are classified as facultative omnivores. This means they can derive nutrition from plant-based ingredients. We use a carefully considered assortment of plant ingredients to make our complete raw food for dogs. Pulled from the Earth, these roots and leafy greens provide a dog with tons of nourishing vitamins, minerals, fiber and other amazing benefits!
Sweet Potatoes
These tasty tubers are excellent for keeping muscles lean and strong. They help keep vital organs healthy by increasing antioxidant activity and ridding the liver of fatty cells. Sweet potatoes are also a great source of fiber, for aiding digestion.
Parsley
This popular herb is great for more than keeping your dog’s breath fresh. The leaves have antiseptic qualities helpful to the urinary tract. Parsley is also a carminative herb that strengthens intestinal muscles, as well as a diuretic that boosts kidney function. It is also an excellent anti-inflammatory and can treat anemia.
Carrots
Beta-carotene is not only good for human eyesight, it’s also good for canine eyes. The world’s favorite root vegetable contains antioxidants and phytonutrients that protect the heart and reduce risk of cancer. Carrots also help reduce cholesterol and protect against heart disease.
Zucchini
Our favorite summer squash is packed full of nutrients, like vitamins C, A and B along with Potassium and Magnesium. This super veggie has anti-inflammatory properties and contains phytonutrients Lutein and Zeaxanthin, which helps eyesight. It also supports a healthy coat and skin!
Cilantro
This incredible herb has awesome antibiotic and antifungal properties. It is twice as effective at killing food-borne salmonella as Gentamicin, a common antibiotic for dogs. Cilantro is also rich in vitamins A and C, along with Iron, Magnesium, and Flavonoids. It’s a great source of calcium.
Ginger Root
A natural anti-inflammatory, Ginger Root can prevent bloat by stimulating movement in the stomach. It kills lymphosarcoma cells and can be used as a treatment against heartworm. As with humans, it is an excellent way to treat nausea.
Spinach
This super food contains twice as much iron as most other greens, and is a great source of fiber, Calcium, Potassium, Vitamins A, B6 and K. Spinach is good for the heart and protects the lining of the digestive tract. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can reduce the risk of skin and stomach cancer.
Romaine Lettuce
We’ve added this super green as another excellent source of anti-oxidants. It also packs a punch of Vitamin K for strong bones and is a great source for folic acid for heart health. Heavy in vitamins A and C, Romaine Lettuce is great for skin and eye health and a good boost to the immune system. Helps digestion, too.
